Privacy Policy

The short version

Orb Path has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of our own. Everything you do in the game — your high scores, coins, quest progress and settings — is stored only on your device, and we never see it.

The one thing that does leave your device is advertising: the game shows ads through Google AdMob, and the AdMob SDK collects device and ad-interaction data in order to serve and measure those ads. That is the only third party involved, and the sections below explain exactly what it means.

1. Who we are

Orb Path is developed and published by Sophon Games (“we”, “us”). This policy applies to the Orb Path mobile game for Android and iOS, package / bundle ID com.sophongames.orbpath.

For any question about this policy or about your data, write to info@sophon.games.

2. Information we collect ourselves

None.

The game does not ask you to create an account, does not ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number or date of birth, and contains no analytics, crash-reporting or attribution SDK. We operate no servers and no databases; the app never sends your game data anywhere.

3. Information stored on your device

The game stores your progress locally, in the app’s own private storage area provided and protected by Android and iOS. It holds gameplay values only:

  • high scores and the last score for each difficulty level, and which difficulty levels you have unlocked;
  • your in-game coin balance and the power-ups you own;
  • daily quest and weekly goal progress, and your daily play streak;
  • an unfinished game round, so you can continue where you left off;
  • your settings: sound, music, haptics and the colour palette you chose;
  • whether the tutorial and its hints have already been shown;
  • whether ads have been removed.

This information stays on your device. It never reaches us. It is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear the app’s data from your device settings. We do not back this data up to any service of ours; your device’s own backup system (for example Google Backup or iCloud) may include it, according to your device settings.

4. Advertising

Orb Path shows banner ads, full-screen (interstitial) ads and optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are always your choice — you only see one if you tap a button that offers a reward for watching.

To serve, cap and measure these ads, the Google AdMob SDK may collect and process:

  • your device’s advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS, where you have allowed it);
  • your IP address, and the approximate (city or region level) location derived from it;
  • device and app information: device model, operating system version, language and region, and the app’s identifier and version;
  • ad interaction data: which ads were requested, shown, clicked or completed, and when.

This data is collected by Google, not by us, and is processed under Google’s own privacy information:

We receive only aggregated, non-identifying reporting in the AdMob console (for example how many ad impressions the game served on a given day). We cannot identify an individual player from it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with any party other than Google for the purpose described above.

5. Your choices about ads

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The first time you open the game, Google’s consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) asks whether you agree to personalised advertising. If you decline, or if no answer is available, the game serves non-personalised ads instead — ads that are not based on a profile of your past behaviour. Non-personalised ads still require a limited amount of data (such as your IP address and coarse location) in order to be delivered, to cap how often you see the same ad and to detect fraud.

On any device. You can limit ad personalisation at the operating-system level at any time:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track.

Orb Path itself contains no tracking or profiling technology of its own.

6. Permissions the game requests

The game requests internet access only, and uses it solely to load ads.

It does not request access to your camera, microphone, GPS location, contacts, photos, files, calendar, call log or any other sensitive permission.

7. Children

Orb Path is a general-audience game. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under the higher age of consent that applies in your country), and it is registered with Google AdMob as a general-audience, non-child-directed app.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this game, please contact us at the address in section 1 and we will look into it.

8. App stores

The game is distributed by Google Play and the Apple App Store. When you download or update the app, those stores process data about that transaction, and may share crash diagnostics and aggregate statistics with us, under their own privacy policies. We never receive your payment details.

This version of Orb Path contains no in-app purchases.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the processing described in section 4 rests on:

  • your consent, for personalised advertising and for the use of the advertising identifier for that purpose — you can withdraw it at any time as described in section 5;
  • legitimate interests, for serving non-personalised ads, limiting how often an ad is repeated, measuring ad delivery, and preventing fraud and abuse — which is what allows us to offer the game free of charge.

Google may process this data on servers outside your country, including in the United States; such transfers are covered by the safeguards described in Google’s privacy policy.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Residents of California and of other US states with similar laws have comparable rights, including the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising — we do not sell personal information, and you can stop personalised advertising as described in section 5.

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing on our side to look up, correct or delete: uninstalling the game (or clearing its data) removes everything the game has stored. Requests concerning the data collected by the advertising SDK should be directed to Google, through the tools and contact points in Google’s privacy policy. If you contact us first, we will tell you what we can and point you to the right place.

11. Data retention

We retain nothing, because we collect nothing. Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it (see section 3). Data collected by Google through AdMob is retained according to Google’s own retention practices.

12. Changes to this policy

If the game changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if in-app purchases or an analytics tool are added — we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date above before the new version is released. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s store listing.
